My specific homework for our group presentation is to make the connection between a clip from the movie Mean Girls, which portrays a high school cafeteria scene (among other things), and insight from Beverly Tatum's book "Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?"  Basically, my job is to explain why the comic parody, which most consider stereotypical and ridiculous, is actually a reality in most high schools, using an Tatum's book as evidence.  This hopefully will promote or provoke an interesting and insightful discussion.
